GREAT Britain boss Alun Rossiter is backing his riders to produce another memorable World Cup performance at King’s Lynn tonight (Saturday).
GB open the tournament against Australia, the USA and the Czech Republic, with only the winners progressing to next Saturday’s Final in Poland.
Craig Cook, Chris Harris, Robert Lambert, Steve Worrall and reserve Adam Ellis carry British hopes at the Adrian Flux Arena.
Three years ago GB got the better of Australia on a dramatic night of racing at the same venue, and most expect tonight’s event to come down to another clash between the nations – although Rossiter is not writing off the chances of the others.
He said: “You never under-estimate anyone, I’ve learnt that in speedway, and the Czechs could come and bite you, and whilst the Americans haven’t got a lot of experience they could still pop out of the starts.
“I believe our team is good enough to win – if I didn’t think that, I wouldn’t have picked them.
“I’ve picked the best riders who I feel can do the job, and we need everyone behind us to create the atmosphere like we had there in 2014.”
